I have sort of dropped the ball on the ol’ blog in the past couple of weeks, but I have been so determined to get into the routine of filming/editing 3x videos a week over on my Youtube channel that it sort of slipped my mind. {I wonder if I will ever come up with a reasonable editorial calendar that I can actually stick to?} Anyways, where have I been since we last spoke? At the end of August, I headed to London for a week to celebrate my sister’s birthday and attend her house-warming party. Then I popped back to NYC for a week to spend more time with friends and attend a few NYFW parties and events. Since last Wednesday, I have been in Cleveland seeing friends and family (and most importantly my dog Dougal) and organizing my life and suitcases, before I head off again in a couple of days for a very special trip.

I wore this outfit for Tristan and my last morning together in NYC, which somehow feels like a very long time ago. It was about 4 weeks ago and I haven’t seen him in the flesh since this day! It was a beautiful morning (albeit a little bittersweet) and I wanted to wear something feminine but easy. I found this beautiful vintage floral dress in my Brooklyn thrift haul and was instantly drawn to the vibrant colours of the fantastic print, as well as the ultra-flattering pleating and waist detailing. One of my favourite looks from the Gucci A/W17 show was a stunning, long purple dress with bright orange flowers on it — so I like to pretend that this short little number is her wackier Aunty.

I can’t find anything exactly like it on the web, but I have spotted a few other beautiful dresses that fit into the moody floral lifestyle. This black chiffon dress with a red, green, and beige floral print is dazzling and would be perfect for a wide variety of events over the coming months. I especially love its velvet mock neck (with button closures) and its billowing bodice. For a little bit more of a splurge (and a lot more skin), this For Love & Lemons midi-dress is a stand-out piece that would look oh-so-elegant with the right pair of shoes (some blue velvet mules, perhaps?).

It is good to be back my beloved blog! xoxo
